Always Bring the Sparkle

Every day is a good day to bring the sparkle. Whether you're in cut-offs and 👣 or in sky high 👠 dressed to the nines. Wear what brings YOU joy. I fell in love and purchased the fabric (a vintage sari glittering with metallic embroidery and beadwork) for this vest long before I knew what I was going to do with it. This vest is part of an outfit I hastily one weekend for a promo shoot for a local musical production. Mistakes. Were. Made. My sewing skills weren't the best.
But I remember being so proud of how it turned out overall, until one person made a comment about it being " a lot". My feelings were hurt. I put the outfit away and from that moment on rarely shared with anyone that I design and make clothes. What if they weren't perfect. What if people didn't like them.
Today I realize, none of that matters. I love the beautiful textiles I source and unconventional apparel I make from them. Eesa Rani is a vehicle for creative expression through fashion celebrating things that bring me joy. My designs may be "a lot" and might not be for everyone, and that's okay. I'm still going to share all the sparkle. It's who I am and being a lot is just enough for me.
